Safety Officer Job Vacancy in Qatar: Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies in line with Qatar Construction Standards (QCS) and Qatar Civil Defence Department (QCDD) regulations.
• Conduct detailed risk assessments, job safety analyses (JSA), and site inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
• Design and deliver comprehensive safety training, including toolbox talks, fire safety drills, and emergency response training.
• Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, preparing root cause analysis reports and implementing preventive measures.
• Ensure proper use, maintenance, and availability of personal protective equipment (PPE) across all sites.
• Maintain accurate records of safety audits, training sessions, and incident reports for regulatory compliance and internal reviews.
• Collaborate with project managers to integrate safety protocols into daily operations and project planning.
• Advise on environmental safety practices, including waste management and hazardous material handling.
• Ensure compliance with international standards such as ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety).
• Participate in safety committee meetings and provide recommendations to improve safety performance.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A diploma or bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline is required.
• Mandatory certifications: NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC), IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent. Additional certifications like OSHA or First Aid/CPR are highly desirable.
• The candidate should have a minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a safety officer in the construction, oil and gas, petrochemical, or industrial sectors.
• I possess extensive knowledge of Qatari safety regulations, international HSE standards, and best practices.
• I possess proficiency in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
• The candidate must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to deliver training and liaise with diverse teams. Fluency in English is required, with Arabic proficiency being an advantage.
• I possess advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for report preparation and presentations.
• A valid Qatar ID (QID) with a transferable visa and No Objection Certificate (NOC) is preferred but not mandatory.
• The individual must possess the physical fitness to conduct site inspections in varying conditions, such as outdoor construction sites and high temperatures.
• I am available to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, and I can start immediately.
