Job description
Responsible for performing accurate container tallying during vessel loading and discharging operations at the container terminal. Ensure proper recording of container movements, verification of vessel documentation, monitoring of reefer containers, and timely updating of Terminal Operating System (TOS) records.
Responsibilities
- Perform container tallying during vessel loading and discharging operations.
- Record and verify container numbers, movements, and locations accurately.
- Check vessel loading and discharging documents against actual container movements.
- Monitor reefer containers and ensure proper recording of reefer status.
- Coordinate reefer container plugging and unplugging activities as required.
- Update container movement records in the Terminal Operating System (TOS).
- Coordinate with vessel operations, supervisors, and equipment operators to resolve discrepancies.
- Report damaged containers, documentation errors, and operational irregularities.
- Follow terminal safety procedures and operational guidelines.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum Intermediate School Education.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in container terminal operations, including at least 2 years of experience as a Tally Man.
- Basic knowledge of Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) and RDT operations.
- Understanding of container inventory control and vessel documentation.
- Knowledge of reefer container monitoring and plugging/unplugging activities.
- Ability to maintain accurate tally records and handle operational documentation.
