Job description
The Rigger will be responsible for safely preparing, lifting, moving, and positioning heavy materials and equipment using cranes, hoists, slings, shackles, and other lifting accessories. The role requires strict compliance with UAE safety standards and site procedures.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and select appropriate lifting gear and rigging equipment.
- Safely sling, secure, balance, and guide loads during lifting operations.
- Give clear hand signals and communicate effectively with crane operators.
- Conduct pre-use checks of slings, shackles, hooks, chains, and other lifting accessories.
- Ensure loads are properly secured before lifting or moving.
- Follow approved lifting plans, method statements, and site safety procedures.
- Maintain safe working distances and establish exclusion zones around lifting operations.
- Report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, and hazards to the supervisor.
Requirements
- Valid 3rd Party Rigger Certificate – Level 2 or Level 3.
- Relevant experience as a Rigger in construction, industrial, oil & gas, or heavy lifting projects.
- Good knowledge of lifting and rigging procedures.
- Ability to understand and follow safety instructions.
- Physically fit and capable of working in demanding site conditions.
- Strong awareness of workplace health and safety requirements.
