Job description
We are seeking a professional Automotive and Metal Painter with experience painting cars, caravans, trailers, aluminum, steel, and other metal components. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying primers and paint, completing finishing work, and ensuring a high-quality professional appearance.Responsibilities
- Prepare automotive and metal surfaces for painting.
- Clean, degrease, sand, grind, fill, and mask surfaces as required.
- Repair minor surface imperfections, dents, scratches, and corrosion.
- Apply fillers, sealers, primers, basecoats, clearcoats, and protective coatings.
- Spray paint cars, caravans, trailers, aluminum, steel, panels, frames, and components.
- Mix paints, primers, hardeners, thinners, and other coating materials accurately.
- Match colors and maintain consistent paint coverage and finish.
- Operate spray guns, compressors, sanding equipment, and other painting tools.
- Inspect completed work for runs, marks, uneven coverage, overspray, and color differences.
- Polish, buff, touch up, and correct painted surfaces when required.
- Maintain paint booths, tools, equipment, and work areas.
Requirements
- Proven professional experience as an automotive or industrial metal painter.
- Experience painting vehicles, caravans, trailers, aluminum, and steel is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation, priming, spray painting, and finishing.
- Experience with different paint systems, coatings, and application methods.
- Ability to achieve a smooth, durable, and professional finish.
- Good understanding of paint mixing ratios and product instructions.
- Ability to work independently and meet quality standards.
- Physically fit and able to work in a workshop environment.
