Job description

The Onshore Emergency Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective emergency response plans, procedures, and Incident Command System (ICS)-based processes. The role involves coordinating emergency preparedness and response activities for major and complex incidents at the worksite, ensuring personnel, equipment, systems, and resources are always ready for emergency situations.

The position requires close coordination with management, Incident Commanders, government authorities, emergency services, and external agencies. The Emergency Coordinator will also conduct emergency drills, exercises, training, risk assessments, and continuous improvement activities while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and international emergency management standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Emergency Response Plans, procedures, and ICS-based systems.
  • Coordinate and manage responses to major, complex, and critical emergency incidents.
  • Provide expert emergency management support and advice to management and Incident Commanders.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct emergency drills, exercises, simulations, and training programs.
  • Coordinate with government authorities, emergency services, and external emergency response agencies.
  • Assess potential emergency scenarios, risks, and preparedness gaps.
  • Recommend and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement measures.
  • Ensure emergency response equipment, facilities, systems, and resources are maintained in a state of readiness.
  • Support incident command, emergency preparedness, crisis management, and recovery activities.
  • Maintain emergency response procedures, reports, records, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, company procedures, and international emergency management standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Safety, Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience in emergency management or a related field.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Petrochemical, or other high-risk industries is preferred.
  • Proven experience in emergency planning, incident response, drills, exercises, and preparedness programs.
  • Practical knowledge and experience in ICS-based emergency response systems.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and international emergency management standards.
  • Willingness to work 12 hours per day, 7 days per week as required.
  • Willingness to work on a 28 days ON / 28 days OFF rotation.
  • Must be able to respond to emergency situations whenever required by the client.
  • Selected candidates may be required to rent accommodation near the worksite to ensure availability during emergency situations.
