Job description
The Onshore Health & Hygiene Inspector will be responsible for implementing and maintaining occupational health and hygiene standards across the worksite, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and company procedures. The role involves conducting health risk assessments, occupational hygiene monitoring, workplace inspections, and evaluating physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, and psychosocial hazards.
The position will also be responsible for analyzing monitoring data, recommending effective risk control measures, investigating occupational health incidents, conducting welfare, food safety, hygiene, and accommodation inspections, and preparing technical and inspection reports. The Inspector will support occupational health training, ergonomic assessment programs, emergency preparedness activities, and coordination with management, employees, HSE teams, and relevant authorities. The role requires strong technical knowledge, analytical ability, documentation skills, and relevant Oil & Gas experience.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain occupational health, hygiene, and workplace safety standards in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive health risk assessments covering physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, and psychosocial hazards.
- Perform occupational hygiene monitoring for noise, vibration, radiation, illumination, dust, fumes, vapors, smoke, mold, bacteria, and other workplace hazards.
- Analyze monitoring results and recommend suitable control and mitigation measures.
- Conduct regular welfare, hygiene, food safety, accommodation, and workplace inspections.
- Monitor the effectiveness of health and hygiene control measures and recommend improvements.
- Investigate occupational health and hygiene incidents and assist in identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver occupational health, hygiene, and awareness training programs.
- Coordinate with management, employees, HSE teams, government authorities, and relevant health organizations.
- Support emergency preparedness, emergency response activities, drills, risk assessments, and first-aid-related programs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Oil & Gas health and hygiene standards, procedures, and regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Hygiene, Engineering, Science, or a related field.
- Relevant training in Health & Hygiene / Occupational Hygiene is required.
- OHTA modules or equivalent occupational hygiene training is preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in health and hygiene compliance/support.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Demonstrated experience in occupational hygiene monitoring and health risk assessments.
- Experience conducting workplace, welfare, food safety, and accommodation inspections.
- Ability to work 12 hours per day, 7 days per week during the ON rotation.
- Must be capable of working effectively in a field/site-based environment.
