Job description
The Lubrication Technician is responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective lubrication activities for rotating equipment at QatarEnergy Refinery, chemical plants, Berth 4 & 6, BSV3, Station C1 and Hamad International Airport (HIA). The role involves inspecting, maintaining and monitoring lubrication systems to ensure the smooth, safe and reliable operation of industrial machinery
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective lubrication maintenance on rotating equipment in refinery and operational areas.
- Check, fill and replenish lubricating oil and grease in bearing housings, oil consoles, crankcases and other equipment.
- Replace and clean lubrication systems, oil filters, sight glasses and hydraulic oil filters.
- Maintain automatic greasing and drip-feeding lubrication systems.
- Carry out routine lubrication inspections and monitor equipment lubrication conditions.
- Identify lubrication-related abnormalities and report them to the supervisor.
- Maintain daily records and reports of all lubrication activities performed.
- Ensure proper handling, storage and management of lubricants.
- Raise corrective maintenance work orders for lubrication-related issues in coordination with supervisors and maintenance planning teams.
- Recommend oil analysis through the Asset Integrity Team whenever required.
- Monitor and assess heavy lubricants, including grease, to ensure equipment reliability.
- Follow company safety procedures and lubrication best practices.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Technology from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Rotating Equipment Lubrication Technician.
- Additional 2 years of previous experience as a Rotary Technician will be an added advantage.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical rotating equipment.
- Good understanding of industrial lubrication systems and maintenance practices.
- Experience working in oil & gas refineries, petrochemical plants or industrial facilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of lubrication best practices and lubrication-related software is advantageous.
- Completion of recognized machinery lubrication training courses is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a multinational working environment.
- Age Limit: Maximum 40 years.
