Skills

Job description
The Boomtruck Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of boom truck equipment for lifting, transporting, loading, unloading, and positioning materials and equipment at Oil & Gas project sites. The operator must perform daily equipment inspections, verify safe lifting conditions, follow approved lifting procedures, and coordinate closely with riggers, signalmen, supervisors, and other site personnel. The position requires a strong commitment to HSE standards, safe load handling, equipment care, and operational discipline.Responsibilities
- Operate boom trucks safely for lifting, transporting, positioning, and placing materials and equipment.
- Conduct pre-start inspections and routine checks of the boom truck before each shift.
- Operate lifting equipment according to approved lifting plans and site procedures.
- Ensure proper rigging, slinging, and securing of loads before lifting or transportation.
- Check load weight, lifting capacity, boom configuration, and operating conditions.
- Coordinate with riggers, signalmen, supervisors, and site personnel during lifting operations.
- Maintain safe working distances and ensure the lifting area is properly barricaded when required.
- Follow all Oil & Gas HSE standards, lifting procedures, and company safety regulations.
- Maintain daily equipment/operation logs and report defects, breakdowns, or unsafe conditions.
- Assist with emergency response activities and participate in toolbox talks and safety drills.
- Keep the boom truck clean and ensure routine maintenance requirements are reported promptly.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant Oil & Gas experience
- Previous experience operating boom trucks in Oil & Gas, construction, or industrial projects is preferred.
- Must have Qatar licence/certification required for operating the equipment, as applicable.
- Must be medically fit and physically capable of performing lifting and equipment-operation duties.
- Must have good knowledge of site safety and lifting practices.
- Willingness to work 8 hours/day, 6 days/week.
- Overtime as per company/site requirements.
