Job description
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Electrician to install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot electrical systems in cars, caravans, trailers, trucks, and other vehicles. The successful candidate will work with vehicle wiring, lighting, batteries, charging systems, accessories, control systems, and electrical equipment.Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and modify automotive electrical wiring systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment.
- Install headlights, taillights, indicators, brake lights, interior lighting, and work lights.
- Install batteries, battery isolators, chargers, solar systems, inverters, and power outlets.
- Wire vehicle accessories such as refrigerators, water pumps, fans, awnings, audio systems, cameras, alarms, and entertainment systems.
- Install and repair trailer plugs, brake controllers, electric brakes, and towing-related electrical components.
- Test alternators, starter motors, batteries, fuses, relays, switches, and electrical circuits.
- Read and interpret automotive wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
Requirements
- Proven practical experience as an automotive electrician.
- Experience with vehicle wiring, lighting, accessories, and electrical installations.
- Previous experience with caravans, trailers, trucks, or recreational vehicles is highly preferred.
- Relevant automotive electrical qualification or certification is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of 12V and 24V vehicle electrical systems.
- Experience with solar, battery, inverter, and auxiliary power systems is beneficial.
- Ability to diagnose faults accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
