Job description
The Assistant Rotary Technician is responsible for assisting in preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance of rotating equipment in refinery and petrochemical plant facilities. The role involves supporting the installation, dismantling, repair, overhauling, assembly and testing of rotating machinery in field and workshop environments while ensuring compliance with industrial safety standards and maintenance procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist in carrying out preventive and breakdown maintenance of rotating equipment.
- Perform installation, repair and overhauling activities for rotating machinery in field and workshop areas.
- Understand job requirements and execute assigned tasks safely in operating plant environments.
- Carry out preventive maintenance and oil flushing of rotating equipment.
- Dismantle, service, assemble and test rotating equipment as per maintenance procedures.
- Assist in rotating equipment alignment and soft foot correction.
- Prepare and arrange necessary tools, tackles and measuring instruments for corrective and predictive maintenance.
- Use appropriate hand tools and power tools during maintenance activities.
- Follow industrial safety procedures and understand hazardous area classifications.
- Ensure safe execution of online maintenance activities using suitable tools and equipment.
- Maintain proper housekeeping of the work area after completion of assigned jobs.
- Coordinate with supervisors and senior technicians to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Technology from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in refinery or petrochemical plant maintenance.
- Hands-on experience in overhauling and maintaining rotating equipment.
- Practical knowledge of installation, dismantling, servicing and assembly of rotary machinery.
- Experience in rotating equipment preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
- Knowledge of industrial safety procedures and hazardous area classifications.
- Age Limit: Maximum 45 years.
